Best Farmer competitions reach final stage
After assessing farmers from West Nile, Northern and Western regions, today the judges have embarked on the Central region to finalise the judgement exercise.
The judge’s led by Victoria Sekitoleko, Chairperson, Uganda Agribusiness Alliance and a former Minister of Agriculture, Augustine Mwendya, former Chief Executive Officer, Uganda National Farmers’ Federation, Dr. Emma Naluyima, Best Farmer, 2014, Josephat Byaruhanga, Senior Agribusiness Adviser, Dutch Embassy and Edward Ssenkindu, Senior Manager Agriculture and Informal Segment, dfcu Bank are to soon there report on who will be the best farmers.
The winners will be announced on November 29, 2019.
This year’s edition which is under the theme ‘Farming as a business, from farm to the market’ will see the best ten farmers walking away with sh150m. They will also be rewarded with a fully sponsored to the Netherlands where they will have an opportunity to visit Dutch farmers and learn from them.
